My Services

I provide psychotherapy for adults and older adolescents. I enjoy working with clients who are motivated to learn about themselves and who are open to new ways of thinking, seeing and feeling, regardless of what particular issues bring them to therapy.

I have special interest and experience in the following areas:

• Trauma Recovery
Whether it is childhood abuse or neglect, sexual assault, illness, injury or another life-shaking event, trauma can have lasting impact on all aspects of your life, including your relationships, physical health, sexuality and emotion regulation. This is especially true if you did not have the support or guidance necessary to process what you experienced after it happened. I have significant experience working with clients to process their past trauma, integrate it into their lives and recover from its effects.

• LGBT Issues
Throughout my training and career, I have worked with members of the LGBT community on various issues including coming out, relationship dynamics, creating family and gender transition. No one is defined solely by their sexual orientation or gender identity, but these aspects of your identity can play a role in the issues that bring you to therapy. I work to balance an awareness of that role with the other components of your treatment.

Relationship Concerns
Clients often enter therapy knowing that their relationships aren’t working, but not knowing how to change them. I am skilled at integrating information from your past and current relationships, identifying themes and patterns and helping you change the dynamics that have kept you from the relationships that you want. I especially enjoy working with clients to understand how ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation and other parts of identity play a role in relationship issues.

While I do not provide child, family or couples therapy, I am happy to refer you to skilled clinicians whose work in these areas I trust and admire.

Psychological Assessments
In addition to psychotherapy, I also provide assessment services. Psychological assessment involves using a variety of tests and measures to gather a significant amount of information in a short period of time in order to answer a question that a client or referring professional may have.

Clients pursue assessments when they want to diagnose or rule out a learning disability, better understand why they struggle in a particular way, have reached an impasse or plateau in therapy or as a way to start therapy with a roadmap that will inform and guide treatment. My psychological assessment process always involves the client in developing the questions they want answered and includes a feedback session to discuss the findings, as well as a written report that can be referred to in the future or shared with other professionals.

Unlike my psychotherapy services, I work with both adults and children in my assessment practice.

Sessions and Fees
I provide 50 minute therapy sessions. My fee is set at $160.

I am an in-network provider with Cigna/Evernorth and Medicaid. I am also able to accept payments from Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and flexible spending accounts and to provide superbills to use for out of network reimbursement.
